IMO bennet would cost more than just a 1st. He was a top 5 pick and still hasnt fully developed...yet.

Don’t know how good the BUF prospects are but that STL deal isn’t getting done. Parayko needs to bring back a 1C. ROR is a better version of stastny. Would consider parayko + some for a package of ROR and Risto.

ROR is a much better version of Stastny, he is a number 1C, and Asplund will be a middle 6 center in 2-3 years. Adding Risto would completely defeat the purpose of the trade, The Sabres would end up in the same situation on D with less prospects, a worse and older 2C, and both older forwards barely surpass the production of ROR to start, plus cost more money.

He's been in the league since 18 and his production has slipped each year, while showing many concerns. They'd be lucky to be offered a first

10 piece trades rarely happen,
it’s not a video game

O’Reilly for Parayko
Either side possibly adds a piece to even out the deal for both sides

Is a guy who looks like a 3rd liner worth a 1st?
Doesn’t seem like a good idea,
but i also didn’t watch Calgary much this year
Do u think he still has potential to be a top6 type scorer?

ROR isn't a number 1c. He's a younger version of Stastny, not better. Their numbers are extremely similar through their age 28 seasons in the league. ROR is more of the same of what the Blues had. A good number 2 center who can win faceoffs and play defense. That's what he is and it's okay to accept that fact. He's not worth Parayko. Blues would need a deal similar to the Jones for Johansen deal in order to make it worth it.

NHL analysts dont accept that fact so I wont. Im highly cynical towards ROR and even I know hes a number 1. He had similar production as Schenn, while playing with less talent on a worse team, and still brought his intangibles (faceoffs and Defensive play)

Schenn also played 20 games without being on Schwartz's and Tarasenko's line. Schwartz was injured and Yeo separated Tarasenko to "balance the scoring" during said time span as well as when Schwartz did come back they put Tarasenko with Stastny. Schenn is also a very good defender.
I wouldn't even call Schenn a number 1 center. When ROR was playing with better talent in Colorado he never put up 70 points. He's a solid number 2 center. Probably on the higher end when it comes to number 2 centers. But he's not a number 1. I get you're trying to sell ROR, but I've watched him play and he's a younger Stastny which I wouldn't call a number 1 either. ROR is not worth Parayko straight up in my opinion. Not even taking in Cap and term into consideration.

ROR was younger in Colorado and and wasnt a fully developed player, yet still produced well. He only had Kane for 30 games this but mostly played with Okposo and Pouliot and still had 61 points while not even wanting to come to work. ROR has also consistently out produced Statsny by at least 20 points so I dont know where youre getting this similarity from.

Over the last 4 seasons ROR has put up the better numbers which considering he was/is in his prime it makes sense he would. I said if you compare them statistically through their age 27/28 seasons they have put up similar numbers in their careers with the edge to Stastny in terms of PPG. Their styles are the same. Defense and faceoff specialists who can generate offense. That's where the comparisons come in. Their careers are similar, play a similar style of game. In 2018 O'Reilly is the better player partly because he is younger, but he's not a tremendous upgrade over what we had. Again, I like him, but not at cost of what it would take to get him. Assuming Parayko played 4 years ago, would you have traded him for Paul Stastny? He had 60 points in 71 games the year before St. Louis signed him. I wouldn't make that trade then, and I wouldn't make it now which is what you're essentially asking.
