They need to make sure they draft an elite defenceman. Chiarelli only trades elite forwards, he leaves elite defemceman for the team he gets fired from.

If they win:
#1: Dahlin
#2 or #3: Boqvist

To be fair, if Edmonton wins the #2 or #3 picks, they should really, really look at trading down to around #6, snag an extra pick out of whoever they fleece, and take Bouchard. Pretty much equivalent with Boqvist and you'll end up with an extra asset out of it.

If they lose:
Dobson or Hughes if they fall that far, much more preferably Dobson. I don't really want the Oilers to bite on a trade involving the #9ovr unless there's a team giving up way too much for it. Like if Minnesota decides they need to retool and (for some very, very stupid reason) they're willing to part with Dumba, you entertain that deal every damn day.

Granted, if all of the defencemen are gone at #9, seriously consider Veleno or Wahlstrom should they be available.
