Please explain to me how Ekman-Larsson is better than Torey Krug. I do not have the luxury of watching Ekman-Larsson, but I do watch to much of Krug because I am a Sabre's fan. Krug is everything you want from a defenseman. He scores, he passes, he skates and he clears the front of the net. I was fortunate to meet Bobby Orr, but did you know in his 1st 3 seasons Orr out scored Krug by only 13 pts. One can only dream of having a defenseman as good as Krug.
Looking at their stat sheets, they each have strengths and weaknesses, but this year they do look pretty even. Each had fourteen goals including eight at evens. Krug had a bunch more power play assists because the Bruins score more goals, and he had seven more even strenght assists. Ekman-Larsson had twice as many hits and played four more minutes a night, so he actually sounds like a harder working defenseman, and here's a team stat if ever there was one, but Krug's plus/minus was 28 better, at zero.
Yeah, maybe slight edge to Krug this year, but OEL has 55 more points in his career, mostly playing with fewer stars, on teams not expected to do much, so I could see throwing in a little bit to trade Krug for OEL.
Who are Heinen and Bjork, though? Any good? Or just window dressing?
