Description
Hellebuyck signs a 2 year deal to prove he is actually as good as he was this season.
Hutchinson signed 1 year to give comrie one last year of development.
Mason is traded to make cap space and give him playing time.
Enstrom sins 1 year deal to stay with the only franchise he has ever played for.
Kulikov and Myers are traded to make room for Niku and Poolman.
Dano is given a fresh start on a familiar team.
Lemieux beats out Tanev, Copp, and Petan for last spot on 4th line - the fourth line finally starts scoring along with controlling play.
After all trades only picks are kept for future rentals.
If Vesalainen is ready then trade Perreault.

your Hellebuyck deal is not near accurate, he just signed for 2.1m. and those trades are so one sided for the jets mason is hardly worth anything, the jets might have to retain. myers isn't that good to get all kinds of return on his last season of his contract. kulivov and dano aren't worth nearly that much

Helebuyck deserves a raise that big after his vezina caliber season
Mason is worth a mid prospect and a mid pick especially going to a team with terrible goaltending
Myers is better than Hamonic and that is what the flames gave for Hamonic
Kulikov is a pricy defenseman but after retention he is a great replacement for Cole once he leave in free agency. Dano is considered a good prospect who hasn't been given much of a chance. If you still think that trade is one sided change the 2nd round pick to a 4th

Yeah, no, we'd rather keep Cole. Kulikov hasn't established chemistry with our blueline like Cole has, and his contract is long enough that it could get in the way of retaining our core. Bringing back Dano's RFA rights isn't worth that, and giving up any 1st (even a distant one) isn't worth that.

Cole's contract is over this season and will want more money than kulikov because the lack of UFA defencemen
Would the trade be better if the 2nd round pick was changed to a 3rd or 4th

If he wants more money then that, then we go with the kids we have rather than resigning. The only reason for retaining Cole is that he plays very well with Savard; otherwise, we'd just let him walk along with JJ. We've got eight competent blueliners in the organization right now and a few more on the way.

Which team do you think would want kulikov then

Enstrom won't ever be worth $4M per season again. Save that budget to retain the kids coming off ELCs and give Niku, Chariot and eventually Stanley the LHD minutes.

Don't know offhand; it's not a problem I've looked into.

I think Enstrom will get 4 if he signs for one year ... if it is a multi-year deal then probably 3-3.5 (I accidentally signed for 6 I meant 1)

There's no way a bridge deal nets you 6M for 2 years. That's a 6-7 year deal figure. If Helley does 2 years it's between 2.5-3.5M per. Armia won't get 2M. Can't afford to pay 3rd/4th liners that much money. If that's the case then he's traded and Vesalainen comes in. Agree with the other posters that alone, Myers doesn't net you that and Enstrom likely doesn't make 4M but that's guesswork

What's the general feeling in Winnipeg about Myers? What is his next contract likely to look at and is he part of the long term future? Seems like the type of RD the Leafs should be looking at and wondering if he makes it to UFA.

I agree with you that trading him should net you something close to what NYI got for Hamonic. Maybe a bit less given he's a year older and less favourable contract compared to Hamonic...but likely in that ballpark. I'd pay the price from a Leaf's perspective depending on what a contract renewal might look like.

Youre probably right about hellebuyck but most of the extensions are worst case (Armia probably gets 1.5M)
Also Myers is better than hamonic and that is what hamonic got (plus he is also going to the Oilers - they pay extra for Defencemen) and Enstrom on a 1 year deal is reasonable (until Stanley is ready)
And vesalainen should at least play in perreault's spot when he is ready
What do you think of the Kulikov trade... If not what team should he be traded to

Myers is not in Winnipeg's long-term plans. Myers needs to be moved in Winnipeg to sign Trouba and make room for Poolman. I think Myers will get the same amount of money he is getting now if he is acquired through a trade and likes it there, but if he hits free agency then its probably 6M minimum.
