Well, it's not our fault you can't offer a proper trade for him ahaha.

He had a bad start, played 15 games with a broken foot, and still managed to get 16pts in 25 games,

So he won't be traded and he will come back strong next years.

You should look at potential Patch trades or chucky trades.

Pretty hard to tell his value... with his huge contract, I think MTL should accept a cap dumb, like Seabrook, or something else. EX: Seabrook, Saad and a 2nd pick, or Lucic and RNH or Bobby Ryan, a 1st and a B prospect or Spezza, Faksa and 2nd... it's my opinion!

The problem trying to trade weber is he's comming off an injury season and due to length a bad contract. To be honest and im a leaf fan i think they need to retool, go agressive in FA and see what happens. But if someone gets drunk at the draft and forgets the length of conteact a 1st, and couple of b prospects round 20ish in age.

I'm a habs fan i did like a few of those ideas and you assessment on this value status is fair.

Yeah I think Montreal has to retain $2M on Weber, coming off an injury, age, and length of contract, and then still needs to be part of a bigger package!
Edmonton might work: Weber and Patches for Lucic, RNH and Bear!
Ottawa: Weber (-$2M) and Juulsen for Ryan, Gaborik, Pageau!
Toronto: Weber (-$2M) for Gardiner, Martin, and Rosen
NYI: Weber (-2M) for Ladd, Clutterbuck, Ho Sang!

Not trying to troll Montreal, or Punk Weber (has been/is a great player) , just concerned about the risk and performance issues down the road.

To Montreal- Nick Backstrom+Brett Connolly

To Washington- Shea Weber (-2M) + Galchenyuk + 2018 2nd

This move is purely if the caps can’t re-sign Carlson

Doubt it happens. Caps will likely ask for more

And you think asking people on here is somehow going to validate your value of him? rolling eyes

Regardless of what you or I think he might be worth, the most important point people are missing is that IF he is only worth X and Y etc, then the Habs will simply keep him. He's been playing very good for them Habs and if the value in trade isn't worth it, we'll keep him for as long as possible.

I think that by next year Dermott will have proven he's ready for top 4 minutes, and PP time, and essentially can get those from Gardiner, if Leafs can move him to improve upon another area of need.. (Got to give to get). Leafs have solid LD prospects within the system that can more than fill in, in a 5/6 scenario! If able to bring in a RDma n, could actually move Hainsey back to his natural side to play 5/6 and PK!
