I don't mind the Price trade.

Pacioretty will net more than a mid first round pick and a non 1C center prospect.

Galchenyuk is worth more than Klefbom, and I sure wouldn't add to the deal.

Nobody really trades 1C center prospects for guys with one year left on contract. And nobody really trades good young defenseman unless the return is great, so the way I see it, Klefbom would go for more than Chucky. Plus, if MTL got Speers, Veleno, Wahlstrom, and Thompson, they could afford to deal a good winger in order to land a puck-moving d-man.

Yeah the values don't add up right. Honestly the price deal seems decent as long as your retaining money. I still can't believe he got that contract.

Montreal doesn't have to sell anyone. So if the price for Pacioretty isn't met, we just keep him. He has been very open with how much he wants to stay in Montreal longterm. So no, Montreal is not trading Max for a mid 1st and a throw in prospect.

Again, we don't need to trade Galchenyuk, or acquire Klefbom. Nor would a team needing defense trade Klefbom if he was that good. Speers, Veleno, Wahlstrom are all not playing in the NHL this year... Thompson is nowhere near the talent of Pacioretty or Galchenyuk. So no, their addition doesn't allow us to create holes to fill a hole on defense. Especially since Klefbom isn't good enough to fill that hole.

Are you expecting to make zero moves and be contenders next year? MTL isn't very good at this point, so why are you concerned if those guys don't play in the NHL next year? I'm not trying to be a jerk, I'm actually wondering what MTL fans think is the best way to move forward. I thought the best option was to trade Patches to acquire some prospects, draft some players, and try to get better in a few years.

EDM would only be trading Klefbom because they have too many LHD and they need scoring wingers. Their D isn't really that big of a mess, they struggled this year because of lousy special teams and no wingers.

I think Klefbom is a pretty good player. He had a bad start this year, but here's some food for thought: https://twitter.com/Woodguy55/status/974328504417316864

Carey Price is not worth that much he is on a long term 10,000,000 million dollar deal and the salary you are retaining isn't enough. The value is not there. Blues would not make that deal.

$10,000,000,000,000 is a lot of money awesome face

Yeah, I'm a Blues fan and I would prefer to avoid that Carey Price contract, but the trade deadline has passed, there were rumors about a trade like this, and I'm bored so I posted it.

I am all for a rebuild and wouldn't mind picking up picks and prospects. I was just saying if they aren't playing next year, their addition doesn't afford us trading roster players. You can still do so, making your team weaker in the rebuild, but it doesn't appear to be something Bergevin is willing to do (go rebuild).

As a Montreal Fan, I find all those Armchair GM teams pretty annoying. Almost as annoying as the 800 variations of Pacioretty for Nuge.
