That’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. There is no way that dahlin will ever be better then Matthews. Your just one of thoose guys that doesn’t know **** about hockey and u try to pretend that u know stuff by saying dahlin will be the best ever

Dahlin has the potential to be better than Karlsson or Hedman. Matthews did not have the hype to be the best center in the NHL. YOU obviously do not know anything about hockey and are just leafs-centric, sorry to tell you but the truth hurts.

Give me an article that shows before the 2016 draft, Matthews was gonna be a franchise center, if you can then I will agree with you, Matthews progressed very well into the NHL and became that franchise player, Dahlin already has that hype before the draft, similar to McDavid.

regarding the dahlin-matthews part:
matthews is a pretty damn good player, but to say "There is no way that dahlin will ever be better then Matthews" is just completely ignorant and shows your leafs bias. not saying dahlin will 100% be better than matthews, but there is a good chance he will be in the future.

regarding the 'pretending to know stuff' part:
i could say the same thing about you - 'you dont know **** about hockey and you pretend that you know stuff by saying dahlin wont be better than matthews when in reality you have no clue how good he will be and you're just taking a shot in the dark'

Non-leafs fan here. The 2016 draft was called the Auston Matthews draft for a reason. Just like 2015 was the McDavid draft and now 2018 is the Dahlin draft. Matthews was deemed a franchise center before playing a single game, many thought he would be taken over Eichel who was also considered a franchise center in his draft year. It was Matthews then everybody else, there was no debate whether or not he was a franchise center. That being said, no way in hell Leads trade Matthews for Dahlin and Domi.

It shouldn't have been. Matthews was/is the more well rounded player. Laine is a great number two, but they went in the right order
