Habs still wouldn't want Lucic. It's a non-starter, not because of the contract but because he can't skate with the forwards. He just doesn't fit the forechecking scheme and they aren't about to change it for one 30-year-old. I actually don't mind him as a player and would love to see him playing with Gallagher (and protecting Gallagher), but it won't happen.

As for Alzner, no question he had a terrible start to the season and didn't adjust well to Julien's defensive system. In the second half, he and Petry have been an excellent pairing in most games. He's no all-star, but Alzner is still an NHLer and, come playoffs, exactly the kind of crease-clearer that refs let operate freely.

I was trying to figure out the Kassian thing, too. The guys a hammerhead, but still.... He's a hammerhead who can skate at the NHL level.

Yes!!! Thank you. Alzner does a lot of things right for a team. It's not black and white. Next year, with a season under his belt and Weber back, he will be an important piece.

i agree with 2/3 there - kassian is a good 4th liner and klefbom is elite - why cant lucic play hockey anymore? hes 29 u dont just forget how to play yet, this isnt a regular decline of an old player this season is an anomaly
