Yes, but I think it has holes, is only a fringe NHL team, and won't go very far. A championship team looks like this in my opinion:
Top 6 forwards average 25-30 goals each
Bottom 6 forwards average 10 goals each
6 defence average 5 goals each
total = 240-280 goals
To put that in perspective, last season 240 goals was good for 9th place in GF, 278 goals was good for first in GF. Any guess who scored 278 goals? Yup, the Pens.
RNH has never scored more than 24 goals in a season, but we haven't seen his ceiling yet, he is on a 28.5 goal pace this season with bad line mates in a checking center role while co-leading the team with only 4 ppg. The Oilers pp is a joke, and RNH is only the second unit for some reason. Anyways, I think you could leave him in 2c for 25-30 goals. I don't know Voracek and Nyquist as well. But Voracek hasn't scored more than 23 goals and Nyquist hasn't has a good year in 3 years and are overpaid so I look to trade them. Make a trade around Voracek and Nyquist and Martin for Gallagher and Jordie Benn, Gallagher has the potential to score 25+ goals with a good center like Tavares and the Canadiens are looking to switch things up. Jordie Benn saves you another 3m in cap. Sign free agent James Neal for 2RW. Sign free Agent Evander Kane or JVR for 2LW.
Your bottom 6 is comprised of veterans capable of no secondary scoring, or rookies who haven't even played in the league before. Adding a 2LW would help with bottom 6 scoring by pushing Marleau down. Bring in a new 4C like free agent Mark Letestu who can score over 10 goals. Hope that the rookies develop nicely.
Thanks for that, I had fun!
