Wouldn't trade Hampus Lindholm straight up for Erik Karlsson, let alone adding to the mix. I would try to get this deal from ANA, if you can:

Sorry, what? Why would Anaheim do this? This is a good return but it's a 2nd pairing defenseman, a 3rd line forward who can bring some offence, and a good but not great prospect (pretty valuable package) for ... wait, sorry, i forgot, it's for a top 5 NHL player in the league, or at least top 10. Sorry, yeah, it's Ottawa who doesn't do this, though from Anaheim i'd take it right away. Even if Ottawa made Karlsson available (which i'm not sure if he'd become very available), i still don't think they'd do this. This is a good package, yes, but it's not what you need to give up to get a superstar.

Getting EK would go a long way in convincing JT they are ready to win now. Other than Barzal, Islanders don't have many enticing prospects for a home run scenario for Ottawa.

It will take an overpayment for Dorion to trade Karlsson. 6 months ago he was being talk about as a top 3 player in the world, won't get traded for anything less than a home run. Even with Ryan attached it brings package down from 7 to 5 assets

Yeah from the Flyers that's a hard no. And I suspect you'll find the same from a lot of teams, gutting the prospect farm and or current roster is a sideways move at best for most teams. As good as Karlsson is he's just one player. The Flyers aren't giving up 3 of their top 5 prospects plus a first pick.

Dorion can demand what he wants but really I suspect he's looking at best case 2 good prospects / young NHLers, 2 first round picks, and maybe a middling prospect for Karlsson. If Ryan is involved then there will almost certainly be a cap dump or two heading back to Ottawa and maybe another middling prospect/pick or two. That's where the the trade gets to 7 pieces comes in, not for Karlsson straight up.

I agree on what the trade will most likely come down to, but to start talks Dorion will most likely have asks similar to this. He'd start the demand with a top level forward and defense prospect/young NHLer, 2 1st round picks, another A level prospect and a R-hand D to replace EK in short term.
The trade situations above are all best case scenarios for Ottawa which is the only way I think they can justify trading their franchise player

Kase is in the top 20 for WAR/GAR for forwards and is a primary point, 5v5 machine.

If I was OTT, I would consider this as one of the best offers
