Sabres arent retaining on ror. It dies right there. 9 million retained over 6 years, just so it looks pretty. If you want him, hes a very solid 2nd line center. im willing to retain salary on most trades if the return is right and if the retention gets additional compensation. Im not retaining for 6 years. Sabres also have holes all over their roster, reinhart has been a sad disappointment- thats rors likely replacement. It doesnt work on our end either.

Hunwick is only signed for 2.3 million per year, not 3 million per year. The real question is why do the pens do this? When Ruhwedel comes back we have 3 capable RHD and Oleksiak is more comfortable on the right side.
