That wouldn't be enough to get RNH from the Oil let alone Draisaitl. But that Buffalo trade would be nice.

It would be awesome but I don't think Chiarelli will make a big move since he lost all the trades he have done so far as oilers GM... that Buff trade doesnt make sence either since Galchenyuk doesnt worth half of ROR and They already have a young top goaly prospect so no interests. You might need to change Lindgren by Juulsen and a 2nd or maybe even a 1st. Would still be profitable for the habs.

Unfortunately it's true, Paciorettys stock has hit rock bottom, also Edmonton doesn't need another LW. IMO this is something I've mentioned in other posts, Pacioretty can only fetch a top prospect right now, not a top 6 forward or top 2 D on an NHL team

Not a patches fan. Sure he has shown he can score but he also has long streaks with no goals and he is a lw.

I don't get this at all, and you aren't the only Habs fan with that opinion. Even if his stock is low, it's low relative to his standard, which is a string of consecutive 30+ goal seasons.
Suggesting he isn't worth a top 6 forward is frankly ridiculous. Not many teams would trade a top 2 D straight up for a forward, so no argument there. That isn't exclusive to Pacioretty however.
Personally, I don't think Pacioretty is best suited to be a leader, but that does not devalue his ability.
Habs were a mess and really felt the lack of puck moving defensemen and different systems earlier in the season, therefore he is not currently on pace for 30 goals. That can change. His lower production isn't due to age, health, or attitude, so it will likely come around. Maybe he doesn't hit 30 goals due to the bad start, but there is no indication he should be less productive than he has been for the majority of his career.

I'm in favor of trading Pacioretty myself. I think we need new leadership anyway and it's preferable to stripping the captaincy. One of these trades involving Pacioretty could work. Both would be greedy and too expensive. I'd prefer O'Reilly and think he'd be easier to acquire than Draisaitl. Buffalo seems destined to be Eichel's team and O'Reilly has always seemed to want to be "the guy". He can be that in Montreal.

No thanks from buffalo. Galchenyuk and ror are similar offensively, but ror is better defensively, on the dot, and in the room (ill assume as ror is considered a leader). A goalie prospect does not sweeten this.

Two washed up old guys for a guy the Oilers just paid to play like Malkin? Not a chance even with the salary retention. But I like the idea of getting the Oilers some leadership, they need it over there. The Sabres trade makes slightly more sense but I don't think it's the direction Buffalo would want to take. O'Reilly is better for them than another young scorer. Maybe Kane instead in this scenario?
