Carrick won't land you Barbashev. Carrick is a bottom pairing dman. Barb has potential to be a top 6 and is still young.

HI Rod. I think you're being "too Leaf optimistic" on some of those Marlies. Bracco, Brooks aren't going to NHL ready next year barring a miracle. Unfortunately Grundstrom was injured and might even miss the year in Sweden. He looks Marlie bound next season. Honda a Dman is playing in the NHL, so his value should be so much higher than Kapanen. Grabner should be able a better deal somewhere else.

I agree with the second point about Barbashev, but the Blues have Petro, Parayko, Bortuzzo and Schmaltz on the right side, Edmundson, Dunn, Walman, Bouwmeester and Gunnarson on the left side... dont see Carrick fitting in anywhere.

Carrick takes over Bortuzzo forsure. Short term takes over Schmaltz.

While Barbashev is still young he is a third year pro who has disappointed at all levels thus far. I do agree with the above that Carrick doesn't represent a great fit with St. Louis.
Rod: I agree with Pal that Bracco and Brooks aren't nearly ready for prime time. Having a hard time even getting ice with the Marlies this year.
