Paryako deal based on a conversation with @rja40 on another thread.

I like it a lot but I'm sure there's likely fans on both sides that hate it.

Would probably need to find a taker for Zaitsev either this year or next if St. Louis has no interest in including him in the deal.

I like Zaitsev but it's a cap-based move.

Parayko is my unicorn. A big, 25yr old RH D-man that can slot right into the #1 pairing with Rielly. Is he a 'elite'? No. But he's everything the leafs would look for.

$5.5m contact is awesome value for what CP brings. At 25 and another 3yrs left after this year, he'll grow up with this core. He already has a bit of experience playing alongside Rielly as a member of team North America in the world cup.

If there was ever a D-man to target...this is the guy IMO. But you gotta pay the Blues to pry him away.

Hutch can be sent down without waivers. Also I think they would ask for Nylander if they were to move Parayko. Futures for Pietrangelo.

But in all honesty Blues should never move Parayko and keep him as their cornerstone.

I didn't propose the trade, only accepted it in a separate conversation. Theory from their point of view was that if St. Louis goes nuclear on their roster, they can load up on more futures with this deal.
