Regroup--Trades with MTL and FLA

Habs trade... I'd do it in a second.

Fla needs Bjugs more than Spurgeon. They are pretty short on RH FW. Trochek is at C so thst leaves only Brouwer, Sceviour, and Malgin for RH RW if they move him. Not much there. Plus he can plat C if the need him too. They have Ekblad, Pysyk, Petrovic, Weegar on RD. Spurgeon would def be an upgrade in their top 4. Guess it cones down to what they want more. Def a fair trade.

Spurgeon is worth a good amount more than just Bjugstad IMO. Bjugstad is basically a worse version of Coyle in all aspects except for his shot. I think Bjugstad could benefit from a change in scenery but I'm not on board with that experiment being executed by the Wild.

I don't see why MTL makes that trade. They gave up a huge piece to get Drouin (Sergachev) and probably would suffer the sunk cost fallacy if you made Bergevin an offer for him. I wanted Drouin when there were rumors he was going to be traded from the Bolts but now I think I'd pass. He's got a lot of skill but we have enough young skilled left shots.


Some interesting ideas, though! I personally think we should trade core players and gear up for Kaprizov (which is what it looks like you were trying to pull off here by trading for youth). This team isn't going to win a cup with it's current roster.

MB would never trade away Drouin after losing so much for him but in a vacuum, maybe something like this instead:
