Looks more or less like what will probably happen. I think taking Armia out of that trade and throwing Lemieux or Petan in would be better. Oilers want a scorer, and Armia isn't one. Plus if we can get Armia to sign 2mill for long term (5-6 years) similar to the Preds' Calle Jarnkrok, I think it will be a huge steal to secure a defensive shut-down forward through his entire prime.

Might be overpaying Tanev a bit Tanev at .95-1mill for a year or two to give you a better idea of whether he earns more than a mill long term. This year Tanev was a great surprise but he was awful the year before. I hope Chevy goes the longest term he can on Poolman and Lowry without going over 1.5 mill and 3mill, and extends Trouba the full 8. A long term deal with all those guys will turn into a bargains down the road. I think based on the comparable contracts we could offer Morrissey less about 5mill/8yrs and save the .5 for next year when we really need it.

If Roslovic keeps showing us what we he was showing us last year, I like this team a lot, and if he doesn't, I think this is the type of team that could afford to buy a 50% cap retained Eric Staal.

I think Armia fits EDM's needs better. They need a penalty killing forward not scoring. Plus Armia can still score (30 Pts). I also think Petan is worth keeping.
