    Leafs would do that trade. Even a average Petry for 3 years would be better than the very good/very bad/ one year Gardiner. Not sure why the somewhat rebuilding Habs would do it,

    My guess is that they'd do it simply because his contract is shorter and cheaper and therefore easier to be traded for a pick or prospect at the deadline.

    Not really, just too lazy to find the actual trade. I have an obsession with wanting my lines to look pretty, even if it has nothing to do with the actual trade idea I'm presenting.
