    I've said it in a previous post, but I think most fans are overvaluing Laine's value. He is a negative asset at 8.7 mil. Somebody will take a shot on the potential but there are way too many red flags for a GM to trade what people are posting he will return.

    I know a different Patrick (Kane) the Wings might be able to get and not trade away picks for. I'd rather give him a 3 year deal that would probably be cheaper than Laine. I like the Husso for Elvis idea though & I understand the Wings would have to be the ones giving picks/prospects for that.

    Yea, just wanted to see if I could make the numbers work with Laine's salary. I don't think Yzerman will be in on him after Vrana. I also like the idea of a Husso/Merzlikins trade if there is salary retention involved.
