Really not sure on what Ehlers value is. Don’t think the islanders will want to trade one of their top 4 d-men. Would probably need more - Isaiah George?
I honestly feel like the hockey fans are over making how much a Lee dump would cost. He had 37 points last year- which would be tied for 3rd on the hawks (besides for the leadership that he brings). Is he Overpaid? Yeah for sure. But if he was a FA he would probably get 3 million. So the islanders are paying to get rid of 4 million. Shouldn’t a first be more then enough?
Also not sure why islanders fans are so hell bent on trading jgp- and some even consider that the islanders would have to package picks with him, he’s still a plus pker and one of the best fo men. He’s only slightly overpaid for a 3c. And I love McLain but he is below average at fo and is unproven as a pker so not sure if he is this jg replacement.
Would love to see if maxim can play left wing- may want him on the second line and sign a forechecking right winger for the 3rd line instead
