Canes thank you for signing that as they match, and kiss Sweeney for signing it. That said, it's unlikely because he has arbitration rights and that would cover his offer sheet possibilities

At the worst, they'd match it and then trade him. They have the space now. I guess it depends when you do it vs their impending UFA signings.

I also think with their history of offersheets, they won't box themselves into a situation where you'll get the chance to take advantage.

Necas isn’t signing a 1 year offer sheet, let alone one at that weak cap hit. If he magically does, CAR matches and trades him for more than the compensation.
