I like the 2026 first rounder going to Chicago. So when the wheels completely fall off the bus in Toronto, Chicago will have a chance to draft Bedard's cousin Gavin McKenna.

CHI should still have a pretty good chance at drafting McKenna, anyway. The consensus interpretation of the lottery rules seems to be that "You can only MOVE UP twice in the draft lottery within a 5 year period", and that staying in place and retaining your original position does not count as "moving up". So, CHI should still be able to win Hagens or McKenna. But I have not found anything confirming that with league officials. So, we'll see. I'm sure the TOR 1st would be top 10 protected, though. Just like their pick next year is, which so many people seem to forget or ignore, for some reason.
