Forgetting whether or not these players would play well together, or even the position, who are the best leaders in the NHL that are not considered superstars? For the sake of quantifying what makes a superstar, let’s call it a forward who is above a point per game threshold through a full season, or defenseman that is near a point per game threshold through a full season (say 70 points or more). Who do you want out there with the game on the line that fits this criteria? This is far from an exhaustive list, it’s just the ones I could think of right now.
That are not considered superstars eh? A few I can think of that are really good… Ryan Nugent Hopkins, Evander Kane, Alex DeBrincat, Nico Hischier, Roope Hintz… I could go on for a while haha… what about goalies? Stuart Skinner, Logan Thompson are two that come to mind… Karl Vejmelka is an underrated option too.
