Drew Doughty will play with Mikey Anderson as long as he leads minutes in LA. Gavrikov and Clarke will probably work just fine, so what is the point of getting Chychrun (even if the Kings added to this)? Kings just need a solid 3LD or up Roy for another few seasons.

I agree that this isn't enough for Chychrun, but the Kings definitely need a puck moving LHD. Right now all 3 of their lefties are stay-at-home guys, and you want a mix of both on both sides.

I don't think this is a spot they'll be able to afford this summer if they want to bring back Matt Roy, but next summer Gavrikov's contract is falling off the books, and they can look for an offensive lefty at that time.

If Matt Roy gets signed long term this off-season, I’d be ok with the Kings moving Spence. If the Kings lose Roy in free agency, I think we want another shutdown defenseman as 3LD or if Clarke and Spence need more time, a Matt Roy lite 2RD.

The Kings next big prospect will likely be Dvorak who is another shutdown LD. Chychrun seems like a square peg to me since the Kings got Gavrikov, even after Gavy goes, would you pay $8-9M for Chychrun, because I’d rather gamble that Spemce and Clark prove more at a cheaper cost.

Basically the Kings shouldnt even want Chychrun unless the Kings reup Roy.
