Description

Pickard in Vejmelka deal as an insurance piece if Villalta call-up doesn’t workout. They also have so much draft capital to go out and get another backup down the line if needed for a 3rd round pick or less.

Kuzmenko could be argued isn’t even worth 4M dollars right now. Foegele is a good bottom 6 add for the Canucks who can play top 6 in spot duty. 2X2 is a nice re-signing.

This only works if Campbell finds his way onto the IR via the Players Assistance Program

funny title as AZ has never discussed that Veg is on the market, every team w G needs has been linked to him but not from the AZ side. Add he has basically two shutouts in a row and the team is in currently a playoff spot - he isnt going anywhere for now.

Vancouver declines. I imagine they would rather take the potential high of Kuzmenko figuring it out and the low of him not, than that package.

Also, Dom's model has Kuzmenko currently valued at $5.2m based on Evolving Hockey Data, so he isn't even that over-valued on his contract. Is he not playing great? Yeah. But he has still produced decently, and has shown 40-goal potential.

That isn't to say that I would pay him $5.5m - I would have traded him last deadline at the peak of his value on an efficient contract - but I think you are undervaluing his value on the trade market. He is a legit top-six winger who isn't meshing with a system and coach. The Canucks will probably take an 'L' if they trade him, but not this kind of package.
