At this point, Garland's name pops up again in the offseason. No need for the Canucks to do this now unless they have a great move lined up to follow. Maybe Garland would be a cheap add for teams with $ in the offseason.

Yeah but he is a cap dump.... hes making 5m and on pace for like 15 points. you arent really moving him for positive value so i imagine you either eat 30%-50% or waste a 2nd / 3rd to dump him. similar to mantha at this point

I'd much rather have Garland and his value will probably rebound with the cap going up

and where do the Canucks come up with the extra $750K THIS YEAR??
perhaps if it was a player they wanted or needed they could move things around but Mantha isn't really either of these

Van don't need to do anything right now. He's playing well in his role (defensively sound) and I'd say part of the slow start is Suter isn't generating much play for his wings but they are pressuring the hell out of other teams and possession #s are great. Slow start to the season but the production in the last two years suggest that he is slightly overpaid and that gets magnified in the cap crunch. Anyway, no need to dump anyone, especially not for Mantha when the team is playing great. If they were horrible, sure.
