In my opinion kulak and ceci won’t make it past deadline on this roster. Kulak seems the most logical to move first because the team can address another area of the roster while replacing his minutes internally. I’m not going to defend this trade as something the rangers should do just the type of move I’d be searching for. I don’t expect to win this trade from a value stand point not really in position to do so but if can come out of it able to ice a 4th forward line without double shifting one of the big boys and bank some additional cap flexibility that’s a win in my books.
What I’d look to do on the defensive lines is to find some form of stability to start building off of. Putting VD up with ekholm for the time being could help that. While I don’t mind bouchard being a high event player right now it’s a bit too high event on the negative side and it’s causing way too many break downs and poor reads for the team to get into a groove. I have no doubt Bouchard get back to the higher standard we expect to see of him just right now his minutes and quality of comp need a reduction. Still let him eat up pp1 time.
