    Orlov trade from last TDL would suggest otherwise. Just under 1.3mil in retention got the Wild a 5th. Just under 1.9mil in retention for the Wild a 4th from the ROR trade. Just over 2.6mil in retention for the Yotes a 3rd in the Kane trade.

    You’re saying half the retention got the wild the same return, and the same retention got the yotes a pick 2 rounds earlier. Doesn’t that sound like this isn’t enough compensation for ANA to retain? Sounds to me like recent history suggests a 3rd, not a 5th

    The Yotes retained 2.6mil on Kane to get a 3rd. In this scenario, the Ducks are eating 1.3mil on Backlund. The Wild ate 1.3mil on Orlov and got a 5th. How does eating 1.3mil go from being worth about a 5th to about a 3rd?
