Remind me why this would be bad

Would rather Necas TBH... even if it's just 1 for 1 or Necas + something...

It would have to be Nylander + for Necas. Necas had 15 fewer points, but is 3 years younger and team controlled. For a rental Nylander, the Leafs would need to add for Necas, not the other way around.

This, as a base doesn't make sense. Carolina needs a RHD back for Pesce (Please note I said RHD, this means Brodie can pound sand) whether that's Lilly or someone from another team like Joki, Nylander doesn't make sense. Carolina would want to move Pesce to avoid losing him for nothing. Otherwise, trading him for another player they're going to lose for nothing makes no sense. Just go into the season with the Frakenblueline

Necas doesn't have more value than Nylander... Necas (like you said) had 16 less points but also 12 less goals... I think that if anyone needs to add, it'll be Carolina as they'll be getting the best player in the deal

I don't like Pesce so I can't be bothered to read the 2nd paragraph but I'll put it as this: No, Lilly will not be added onto a Nylander for Pesce trade unless something of more value comes back

Presumably orlov or skjei comes over to the right. Carolina has 5 legit top 4 dmen, so it just seems like they're primed to make a move. Maybe they move skjei instead. But if they did move pesce it seems like their d core will not only still be intact but elite. And then add nylander...

I don't see why carolina would ever trade Necas. And besides, the Leafs need to build their defense more than anything, no?
