Sharks say yes to both of those, but goddamn that is a lot of dead cap. I'm not sure the Sharks owner would say yes to that. Lineup doesn't look close to right either, if you're going to trade all your vets then you should call up your young guys to get them experience. Eklund, Bordeleau, etc.

I don't think it's great for Nashville, but I don't think Couture at $5m is a cap dump. He put up almost 70 points last year on a team with like 4 good players.

He'll be 38 before that contract ends though. Even at $5M, that contract's riskier than asking Doug Gilmour to drive the babysitter home.
