Two-way doesn't mean what you think it means. It has nothing to do with having to clear waivers to be sent down. The only thing it means is that you make less money if you play outside of the NHL.
Neither ****emo nor Madden (nor Thomas) are waiver exempt any longer. They'd all have to clear waivers before they're sent down.
Kaliyev only has 14 NHL games remaining before his waiver exemption expires. Byfield has 53 left. Barring injury, both guys will lose their exemptions this season.
