I’m curious what direction STL was heading which is why I offered the picks. I thought a first was close and the third was thrown in to offset the retention

i liked saad when he was here before, and him at 2.2mil is a solid deal but i look at him on 2nd line and i'm kinda like, meh. now if drouin hits and we could have him coming out third line then thats huge

This deal leans to the side of caution should the Drouin experiment fail. If Drouin works in the top 6, then Saad at 2.25mil on the third line is good value (not to mention he easily slides up to fill in for injury when needed)
