Carter Hart
I don't think there is going to be a strong enough market for Philadelphia to consider moving him. The return would have to be historic in terms of recent history for a goaltender and I don't think any of the teams that would be interested in Hart have the pieces or would be willing to move them to acquire him. Flyers fans want the moon and other fans want him for pennies on the dollar.
Three-Team Trade:
To VAN: Jake Bean
To CBJ: Kevin Hayes (30% retained by VAN)
To PHI: Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Guillaume Richard, 2023 2nd round pick (CBJ) - 34th overall, 2024 1st round pick (VAN)
Very ambitious and probably unrealistic (OEL has an NMC), but if VAN is going to try to compete after the Hronek trade and the J.T. Miller extension kicking in, ridding themselves of OEL's contract would be necessary. VAN retains 30% of Hayes' remaining three years, acquire Bean, and dump OEL for a future 1st rounder. When all is said and done, they'll save a total of $22,638,096 in cap space over 4 years (average of $5,659,524 per year).
The Hayes to CBJ rumors are kicking back up and getting him for $5M per year in exchange for 34 overall + depth defensive and cap space in Bean probably is fair value. PHI takes probably one of the worst contracts in the league in exchange for a high draft pick, but VAN opening up space would be useful to pursue on another impact player.
Trade #2
To DET: Travis Konecny
To PHI: Filip Zadina, 2023 1st round pick (NYI) - 17th overall, 2024 2nd round pick (DET)
Consolation price to DeBrincat, DET gets the second best option on the market. Modeled this trade a bunch, think most DET fans have been on board with the value. Flyers get to add another 1st rounder in a deep draft and an early/mid 2nd rounder. Zadina hopefully can get a jumpstart in the change of scenery and get close to his junior days of pocketing goals -- similar to Tippett this past year. DET gets a guy who can help them as they look to get back into the playoffs.
Trade # 3
To TBL: Nick Seeler
To PHI: Phil Myers, 2024 4th round pick (CHI), 2025 5th round pick (TBL)
Tampa gets a solid bottom-pair defensemen - who can be resigned for cheap - to help them on their contention run. Played well in Philadelphia last year but is a rental and doesn't help them for their rebuild. Tampa effectively gets Seeler for $525,000 if Myers is buried, $150,000 if not.
