Not sure how I feel about having Monahan and Poulin compete for 3C. It would certainly provide for a better 3rd line if Monahan is healthy, but is that likely? If he's not, I don't know how Poulin will fare after his absence. I want him to work out, I really do, but I have some doubts.
Kampf and Eyssimont are solid options, but I don't really want to stifle the youth in our system now. Hallander is actually a decent loss so a center makes the most sense imo. But it's still worth giving shots to the aforementioned Poulin, as well as Puustinen and Nylander.
Not the biggest fan of Schenn. I know he's been pretty good in the playoffs, but his regular season wasn't exactly endearing.
Nor am I a big fan of Petry's departure. It leaves a chasm on the right behind Letang. Part of why the organization targeted Petry in the first place is so we'd have a RHD that could fill in for Tanger if/when necessary at 1RD. The player on this roster I trust most to do that is Ty Smith.
What I think would be best is to package one of Joseph or Smith in a deal centering around either a LHD to parter with one of Letang or Petry, or for a middle-six scoring option.
Guys on Frank Seravalli's recent trade targets that could fit the bill are Sam Girard or Matt Grzelcyk on D and Kevin Labanc or Ross Colton up front.
Whichever of those we don't pull the trigger on a trade for can be addressed in free agency. Bertuzzi/Compher/Bunting up front or Graves/Gavrikov on the blue line.
