Assuming that he doesn't get much more than his Qualifying Offer, Calen Addison's and assistant captain Marcus Foligno's combined cap hit next season will be less than $4 million; Olofsson's tag and the cap hit for the open roster slot player will be at least $5.5 million. Given Minnesota's cap situation next season and the fact that both Foligno and Olofsson are rentals, and that Foligno has certain intangible qualities that Billy Guerin appreciates, I can't see the Minnesota GM going for this deal. You only have room for a 22-man roster with this plan, and that's assuming that future franchise goalie Filip Gustavsson (who turns 27 before the July 1 of that second contract year) can be re-upped for $2.5 million.

I could see the Sabres possibly make a move like that
Foligno is a well liked former Sabre, who could easily fill a leadership role should we not bring back either Okposo or Girgensons

No use for addison tho. I'd do foligno and like a 5th for olofsson retained enough to make the salary fit.
