Edmonton declines and it's not close. Edmundson has back issues and isn't worth more than a 3rd, even with full retention.

From Edmonton's standpoint, they already have Nurse, Ekholm, Kulak and Broberg signed for next year at LHD, they wouldn't be interested in Edmundson at any price.

Edmundson might be worth a 3rd at the deadline with retention. Unless he starts playing out of his mind there is no way MTL gets a 1st for him.

One's clearly a Winger who can play all positions well enough but isnt a bonafide Center for a reason.
The other is a Forward who worked his way to becoming a Bonafide Center for a reason .

The Difference ? Production , Role and ability to succeed.

With your guy there's still upside but with ours he's a bottom 6 Center and leader who's a good PK guy , He'll only improve on what he's already expanded on.
Its basically Middle 6 vs Bottom 6 which there's a varying divide on value wise but in this case i'd say its basically an even swap cause CGY is Cap F'd .
Atleast from a Buisness POV as AR is a Arbitration eligible RFA after next season and earned a signifigant raise Arbitration will give him .
MTL can pay that , not even an issue plus we dont need Evans with Owen Beck Arriving in a few months .

Um what that comparison makes zero sense? Who exactly do you say is clearly a winger? Not Ruzicka, he's very suited for center and he has very clearly worked his way into the NHL. The difference is that Evans is 3 years older than Ruzicka and broke into the league full time 3 years ago. Ruzicka is 23 right now and has taken the 5th most faceoffs on the Flames this year. He is a big strong, and relatively fast player too with a decent 200 foot game. He has all the qualities to be a solid middle 6 center down the line.
Odds are very high that either him or Dube will be playing full time 4C next year and Calgary will run more of a "kid line" as the 4th line with Duehr on one side and one of Dube/Pelletier/Coronato/Zary on the other.

This is not a comparison or a 1 for 1 offer because Calgary would never make that trade simply due to how cheap AR is next year, this is simply me proving that you definitely have the wrong idea on him
