Salary structure breakdown on DeBrincat's contract to keep his cap hit down:

Year 1: 9 million (to match qualifying offer).
Year 2: 10.5 million.
Year 3: 11.5 million.
Year 4: 11.5 million.
Year 5: 10 million.
Year 6: 10 million.
Year 7: 9.5 million.
Year 8: 9.5 million.

I did the math. Took me longer than I would've liked...

Total : 81.5 over 8

Prospects who could get some looks at the end of this year: Sokolov, Lodin, Crookshank, Thomson (again if/after Holden and Hamonic are gone), JBD (again), Kleven (when his NCAA season is over).

Prospects who start the year in Belleville but get interim shots throughout the year next year: Boucher (if healthy), Crookshank, Ostapchuk, Latimer, Kleven, Thomson, Sogaard (if he doesn't just start the year with the big club - depends on his play at the end of this year).

Still some question marks on the back end and in net. Hopefully Forsberg can recover and rehab nicely... Sogaard played great yesterday. None of the goals were his fault and kept the team in there, specially in the 3rd period. He could probably benefit from playing more minutes in Belleville so I wouldn't be surprised if Ottawa signs a backup in FA (Helleberg) or stick with Spencer Martin if Ottawa claims him on Waivers.

Guys in "Taxi Squad" are call ups on 2-way contracts that are waiver exempt.
