Which option do you prefer

It depends on what the bad contract is.


In this instance, I prefer the trade involving Kassian.


1. Kassian's contract has a lower cap hit than Zaitsev's both before and after a buyout.

2. Kassian's contract has no signing bonus money.

3. Kassian has no trade protection.

4. We are giving away a really low 4th round pick for 2024 versus the 45th overall pick in a supposedly deep draft for 2023.

Zaitsev for a set of cones and a milk crate full of pucks. With inflation and supply chain issues, its hard to get practice equipment.

if OTT wants to keep Cat next year they cannot take back any cap when they trade Zeitsev
