Without even going back years, Dorion could have signed Nick Paul instead of trading him for Joseph and a pick, which would have allowed to keep Connor Brown too (he was pissed to see his friend and linemate traded, a guy who he had crazy chemistry with)
He also shouldn't have re-signed Gambrell or give a 1-way deal to Parker Kelly. Brassard is perfect as a 13th forward at this point in time. There's a guy in Belleville who would great energy and overall game to the 4th. He was going to make the team last year but got injured
Then instead of giving up 7th OA + 39th OA picks for DeBrincat, make that kind of offer for a good Top-4 RHD
Save on Hamonic 3.0 as well
So with DeBrincat and Hamonic money saved, minus the RHD, invest in a LWer (since Formenton has been canceled for this season (at least))
