Honestly seems like a fair deal for Chychrun imo.

The Sabres are not going to trade Peyton Krebs for the same reason they didn’t trade Tage Thompson a couple years ago or expose him in the expansion draft; Tage Thompson was a key part of the O’Reilly trade, and dumping him at the time would have implied they lost the trade and got nothing in return.

Krebs was the same deal. There’s a reason the Golden Knights vehemently tried to refrain from including Krebs in an Eichel deal and an Eichel deal does not happen without Krebs in it. The Sabres are not going to trade a key part of the Eichel deal, the piece that they wanted insisted be apart of the deal for it to happen, especially for a defenseman who is injury prone and only has a couple years left after this year.

Needless to say, it is a good offer, but I would not trade any 2023 first rounders. I also don’t think Jokiharju is included because the Sabres don’t have any other right shots other than lybushkin, although I’m sure that wouldn’t be a deal breaker

Crouse is gonna cost way more that a 6th dman and struggling prospect, if mitts even counts as a prospect. He's on pace for 40 goals (probably slow down) this year and is one of the yotes best peices.
Imo crouse is worth way more than chychrun, especially to the sabres who already have a pretty elite collection of left handed dmen.
