Devils are better off keeping the cheaper Holtz and Zetterlund

That's one helluva overpay for Timo Meier, who's behind Zetterlund in underlying possession metrics and PPG.
Try replacing Zetterlund + the 1st rd pick with a mid rd pick and there might be a chance of the Devils accepting but your initial suggested offer has no basis in reality.

Really not convinced that NJ needs a winger at this point. At least not a big-time one that demands this price.

Would love to see more Meier to... anywhere but NJ ACGMs.

Timo Meier is not gonna return a larger package than DeBrincat.
Timo Meier might return the same value as Fiala and Stone got, if the Sharks are lucky.
Holtz + a 3rd rd pick would be just that.
