Description
Bortuzzo for Holl ( Plus whatever else makes it work from either side) would free up cap space and Bortuzzo is more of a defensive player then Holl. Bortuzzo also has one extra year.

Sheary adds scoring depth, Hathaway adds bottom line grit. Both Engvall and NAK get fresh starts.

Meier helps top 6. I know most will say SJ is not doing that and taking Leaf's trash. Robertson is a good prospect being misused a bit, Kerfoot good depth keeps cap close. Other prospects or picks could be added really whatever makes it work.

I am not sure if this tips the needle for the leaf's but I think with Muzzin possibly not coming back they should try and take advantage of that cap space and forward depth is where they mostly need it.

I see no need for the Caps to make this trade given their current spot. Sheary is doing far, far better than Engvall so far this year, and Hathaway is doing far better than Aube-Kubel, so I don't see any current scenario where the Caps make this trade.

What about Strome instead of Sheary?

Even more of a no-go. Strome has done better than Sheary and will be an RFA after this year, so even less incentive for Washington to get rid of him.

Engvall is something like 7 years younger and Washington seems to be sliding a bit. They may be playing better right now, this trade could help in the future as well. Not saying its a straight up perfect trade but could be a good starting point.
