Crouse is probably going to be Ritchie 2.0 on the third line. No sense, in trading for him if he's getting paid 3.75m. Adding size without speed hasn't worked out for them. It's a small sample but in the 24 games Ritchie played with Arizona he had a slightly better PPG than Crouse and a better scoring rate as well. From what I've heard Crouse is just as slow, so no reason to expect he won't be just as bad as Ritchie but getting paid far more.



The value is less than they want but probably more than they will get but all the "junk" makes it unrealistic.

Two firsts = good
Robertson = meh
Two rentals = double meh
Two B prospects = naaah

Not enough to get Chychrun, in my opinion.

Their reported ask was a young player, a prospect, and a first (don't recall if this was the increased ask or initial ask), but some execs thought it was reasonable, others thought they were overvaluing him. There hasn't been a trade for him yet, so it seems the interested parties think their ask was too much. He might go from a young dman with a good contract with term to a two-year rental dman in his prime before he even gets traded.

I wonder if whoever trades for him will be able to keep him beyond the 2-years assuming he gets traded next year, and if he just ends up being a good D-man rather than elite as they are advertising him as.

Maybe Zito makes another bold move and trades for him this off-season though, not sure what he will offer though with no picks.
