Count me among (maybe the few) who don't think the Sens should pursue Giroux for that $$$ and term. Sens might want to put their $$$ starting next year into Stutzie, Pinto and Zub.

Ottawa should trade Brann while he still is valuable. OTT already has 2 very elite puck moving D in Chabot and Sandy. Brannstrom struggles in the Dzone. When it will come to playoffs he won't be winning battles against big guys throwing their body around in the corners. Chabot is QB for PP1 and Sandy for PP2. Zub should also be put with Sandy as his D partner Since Zub will be best at easing him into the league one defensive defenseman to another. It is also time to let JBD or Thomson get a spot on the team as soon as one of them is established onto the team I am 100% sure whoever makes the team will be better than Brann both ways of the ice. The D lines should look like :

Chabot-XXX
Sandy-Zub
Holden- Hamonic/JBD/Thomson

Other contracts will also come off the books. Zaitsev, Murray then White and we're talking about 15.5 M$ for 3 players that could be replaced cheaply.

Sens can afford a lot of things going forward. Problem is you need an astute manager for that, which is the scary part for me.
