Counter offer:

To NYI: Dunn & two 2nd Rounders (SEA's 35th & TOR's 57th)
TO SEA: Dufour & 13th Pick

Probably a no.

If interested in a lesser LHD , would you do H. Fleury (rfa) for Koivula (rfa)

I think my original offer minus maybe Wilde and throwing in the 13th pick would suffice. 13th pick goes a lot further for Seattle than the Isles, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the team moves it

That's a steep price to pay for Dunn considering he's one year away from RFA (and a probable raise) and it's basically a cap neutral deal ($4.15M going out, $4M coming in). Especially when you consider that the only skater Dunn spent significant (>60 minutes at even strength) time with and had positive possession numbers was Mark Giordano. You're also selling out Beauvillier at his lowest value - he shot 7.8% last season after scoring at a 12.9% pace coming into last year. If he scores at his career percentage this past season, we're talking about a 20 goal scorer and maybe not so quick to send him packing.

If you're targeting a LHD from Seattle, Carson Soucy would probably be the guy. He's cheaper for the one year left on his deal ($2.75M), will probably re-sign in the $4Mish range, and had stronger possession numbers than Dunn. I think the acquisition cost could be lower for him as well - I think you can just send Seattle futures for a pending UFA like him.

I think Soucy is a better fit for Isles, also, and is the player Seattle might look most at moving between now and next years deadline . . . I think SEA will only move Dunn if the offer was too good to turn down.

What do you think NY would willingly part with for Soucy this summer??
