I agree, but Goli somehow got a 2 year full NMC. Merrill is at least cheap enough to bury without a cap hit and doesn't have any clauses in his 3 year deal.

Or they could have kept Suter, who is better (and cheaper) than all of them.

They whole buyout of BOTH Parise and Suter is rough. I understand Parise, but Suter could have been useful. I'm not saying he's the same Ryan Suter as of old, but even in this series with Calgary Suter's either been #2 in ice time for the Stars...or higher for every game in that series. They couldn't even wait 1 more year to help offset some of this dead cap? buying him out last year never made sense to me.
