Dude, when your top 2 LDs, who also happen to be your top two puck movers/PP guys, and your 3RD/PK specialist are all out, and you play most of two games in a row with 5 D-men, and one of those is playing hurt, injuries aren't an excuse - they're a reason.
Honestly, as a Wild fan. I feel for you guys on this one.
This feels just like game 7 against Vegas last year for us.
Brodin is boarded less than 5 minutes into game 7 and leaves with a separated shoulder. No call or fine/suspension forthcoming.
Spurgeon is boarded 6 minutes into the game and is fine. Called, but no fine or suspension.
Suter takes a cross check to the back of his shoulder blades by Ryan Reaves that sends him face first into the goal post. Plays the rest of the game with a mild concussion, but stays in due to already being down to 5 defenseman. Called roughing, no fine or suspension.
Eriksson-Ek played most of that game on one leg.
--------------
Given that Spurgeon was boarded early in game 1, I think that contributed to his needless and unnecessary penalty at the end of game 1. Which should have been a suspension.
But Jesus, the Wild had the better defense when both teams were healthy. And given the high-powered offenses of both teams. Losing defenseman for either side is a damn deathnell.
I hope you guys get some guys back for game 4. I wanna see us beat the Blues fair and square. If your still down bodies on defense, the victory won't feel right to me.
