Ottawa wasn't gonna go past 3×3 for Paul, and now they've added another bottom six winger in Joseph. Love Nicolas Paul but that contract is brutal and totally unneeded given they have Jo and Formenton

Probably not too far off for Norris but he’s gonna be so overpaid. Over half his goals on the PP and he’s like 7th on the sens for assists as a top line center lol

Damn that's a lot of hockey knowledge. Way too much for just 1 post.

42% of his career goals have been on the PP : so overpaid

So yes this ratio will get lower with a bigger sample size, so he might not score 40+ goals every season and his ES production might go up if guys like Batherson and Chabot don't get injured

But why stop there?

38% of Stamkos career goals have been on the PP : so overpaid
37% of Ovechkin career goals have been on the PP : so overpaid
37% of Draisaitl career goals have been on the PP : so overpaid
36% of Malkin career goals have been on the PP : so overpaid
35% of Zibanejad career goals have been on the PP : so overpaid
37% of Brayden Schenn career goals have been on the PP : so overpaid
37% of Kreider career goals have been on the PP : so overpaid

A goal scoring center instead of a playmaking center is such a bad thing! Too bad the Sens don't have a playmaking center as well sarcasm

And didn't notice at first but it seems you're pretty damn bad at math on top of everything... 16 PP goals / 35 goals is NOT "Over half his goals on the PP" lol

Agreed, too much term and now too much AAV

I'd love to find a way to bring Nick back but with Formenton, Brown, Joseph and soon more guys like Crookshank, Greig, Kelly, Lodin, Sokolov, Jarventie, etc... it's getting a bit crowded on the bottom-6 wings. And the Center position looks set for a long time. And then add that 7th OA pick who could possibly a forward (not to mention the rest of the prospects already in the system)

The ONLY need at forward is either a Top-6 LW or RW

Since you have enough time on your hands why don’t you compare the first 100 nhl games all those guys had compared to Norris. I guarantee he’s last in assists, probably points too. Why not look at shooting percentage and how inflated it is. But best would probably be eye test, watch every game. Norris is not nearly as dynamic as any of those players. All those guys have more 5v5 goals too so comparing their PP goal ratio is stupid

Nobody said any of this, that he was a premier playmaker or that he would outscore the guys I named.

On the other hand, YOU went with the dumb statement and for sure, I love to HIGHLIGHT these when I see them :

"Probably not too far off for Norris but he’s gonna be so overpaid"

People who watch him every game don't see him to share your "unbiased view" and have no problem paying him 7+ M$ per season.
