Top-LD or scoring top-6 player. That being said the Kings are pretty unlikely to move Faber. Although it is a log jam or RD between: Doughty, Roy, Walker, Durzi, Spence, Faber, Clarke, Grans, Etc. Roy and Faber are the only legit shut down players (Doughty can too, but he's moved primarily to offense). I see that Walker, Durzi, Grans, and Spence being the ones on the move before Faber.

It would have to be something the Kings could absolutely not turn down to move Faber.

I really want Faber to play potentially with Ryan Johnson in the NHL. But this would mean that Dahlin or Power would have to play RD. Durzi could be a good add for the sabres, what else would you add to Durzi to trade for let's say Peterka? Or maybe a B prospect Kisakov or Poltapor without an add. I think Kisakov has top 6 potential.

I agree with fellow Kings fan, @tryger. Faber is a player that the Kings are highly unlikely to trade unless something blows them out of the water. By that, I mean somebody like Quinn (which OBVIOUSLY isn't going to happen). My point is simply, that's the type of value that would need to be involved. Peterka's a nice piece, and a prospect that I like, but the Kings already have their version of Peterka in Samuel ****emo. When tryger talks about "Top-LD or scoring top-6", the view in LA is that the players that Blake is looking for are Chychrun-level on D or Filip Forsberg-level on the forward side. In other words: Big game hunting for the piece that will put them over the top. Not more prospects to fight for spots (they already have plenty of those).

As far as Durzi, I think there can be a conversation there in the summer (when the Kings have their six opening lineup D not injured, as is the case currently). He's a player that the Kings have many similar types of. But with his ability to consistently play in the NHL on top of his prowess on the powerplay, I'm not sure the Kings would be adding to a Durzi/Peterka swap as you hope. If anything, it would be one-for-one. But I imagine true value is that Buffalo would have to add a pick somewhere in there, at least until Peterka shows he can stay in an NHL lineup for consistent stretches. I'm not bashing Peterka at all, like I said, I like the player. But one player right now is a guaranteed point producer and impact player in the NHL, whereas the other is not. Just my thoughts.

My friends @tryger and @PuckLuck_77 have covered the subject accurately and exhaustively. I'll make it simple: instead of prospects, we're looking for established players like Clayton Keller for RW or Ivan Provorov for LD, but I highly doubt that we'll be able to land anyone like that. But a boy can dream.

Thanks! This is quite insightful, well thought out and explained. Not much argument fromy side, I believe that these trades would be in the summer or at the draft. Which of the current younger RD that the kings have is more of a defensive player. If Durzis' value is held in his offensive prowess he isn't really the guy we are looking for anyway. I think the sabres need a solid defensive dman to play next to Dahlin or Power.
