That's a last resort return for Chychrun. We need a high end piece coming back, but if we are really inclined to trade him that's somewhat near a quantity trade. Don't think Bill Armstrong is folding, though, as he hasn't done so so far. In all other trades he has set a price and not budged until it is met. Don't think he is doing anything differently this time around either.

Turcotte, Grans, ****emo, and a 1st is a pretty darn good haul for Chyc, even with the Maatta cap dump.

Look I'm the biggest Coyotes fan in the world, I love Chych and if it were up to me, we wouldn't move him. But when I look around, and I look at the potential blue chips coming back, I just don't know which one we could reasonably get from the teams that have had mentioned interest. Would I prefer a McTavish or Lundell yes, but idk if that's gonna happen. In this case.. was Turcotte over drafted.. yes... Could he still be a top 6 center yes. Turcotte-Hayton + whoever we draft in round 1 this year is at least a good foundation down the middle. I'm a huge ****emo fan. I think he has all the tools to be a consistent 25 goal 50-60 point wing. Keller, Crouse, Schmaltz (if he stays at wing), Guenther, ****emo, Maccelli, that's a real good top 9 set. Grans can flat out play. Soderstrom, Grans, Mayo/Timmins is again a decent start to your right side. Plus the 1st would give us 4 in this draft, that mean's either 4 super high upside prospects or maybe we take the Carolina, LA, Col 1st rounders and package them to have two picks in the top 5 etc. I like this deal from the idea that it gives us many more bites at the apple and stronger prospect base.

Rob Blake wouldn't move Alex Turcotte for Jack Eichel, he sure isn't moving him for Jakob Chychrun.

I agree. It's good value and something we in the end potentially could accept. I just think it's crucial we get a elite/high-end prospect in the deal. I don't see Turcotte being that, but others might. I don't think Bill Armstrong does either, since a trade hasn't happened. That's more important than the collected value in a quantity deal. We have already proven to be able to collect assets in other ways. But, of course. If a deal for a quality piece can't be struck we might have to reconsider our stance.
