Description
I think Parayko's deal today signals to me that signing Reilly long-term is more doable. I think he would take 5.5-6 million on an 8 year term. I don't want him gone for nothing so I'd prefer the leafs trade him or sign him. I think something gets done shortly based on how much he means to the team.

Also, I think Domi won't have a great year this year and I doubt many teams would want him come the trade deadline. I'd sign him to a show me deal for 1 year like Galch and I think he will have more of an opportunity to do well.

He would but that's why he'd sign a hometown discount contract. I think Parayko is nearly as good as a dman but he has more value in the league considering he's big and right handed... which is stupid but it works like that in the NHL.

100% I think he's pretty great offensively and average defensively. He's a top pair dman for sure and he plays lots of minutes. Plus Hyman would've taken a hometown discount but the leafs didn't want to shell out 5 mil or something close for a forward who has a long injury history. Although I love Hyman don't get me wrong.

Why would he take a discount to play for the Leafs when he can play somewhere he's properly valued and would deal with less grief? It's not his fault they spent all their money.
